What we do with your information when you get in touch, in plain English.

Who we are

Blackpool Materials Supply & Install Limited, trading as BMSI, is the data controller for the information described on this page. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17103907, registered office Flat 4, 81 Bispham Road, Blackpool, FY2 0SX. You can reach us on 07592 769 657 or at bmsiblackpool@gmail.com.

What we collect

There is no enquiry form on this website, so we do not collect anything from you just for looking around. We only hold what you send us yourself: your name, your phone number or email address, and whatever you tell us about the materials or the job you need, when you call, email or come to the yard.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, so the site can be served and kept secure. We also use Sentry to record technical errors so we can fix them. Sentry is configured not to collect personal information, and there is no advertising or tracking on this site.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Nothing here needs your consent, so there is no banner to click through.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use your details to answer your enquiry, quote for work, supply materials and keep the records a business has to keep. That is our legitimate interest in running the business and, once you order from us, performing our contract with you. We also keep what tax and accounting law requires us to keep.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for marketing. We pass on only what is needed to do the job: a supplier or subcontractor working on your order, our accountant, and the providers that host this site and monitor its errors. Where the law requires it, we will also share information with HMRC or another authority.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted once they are clearly dead. Records of jobs and orders are kept for six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because that is what HMRC requires, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within one month.

Complaints about your data

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, email bmsiblackpool@gmail.com and put “data complaint” in the subject. We will acknowledge it within 30 days, look into it, keep you updated while we do, and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk at any time, and you do not have to come to us first.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
